Articles of Faith

Article 1

WE BELIEVE in the trinity of the living God:  the Father, the Son (or Word), and the Holy Ghost, equal in wisdom, power, and glory.


Article 2

WE BELIEVE the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be of divine authority and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.


Article 3

WE BELIEVE in the sinfulness of human nature and that redemption from that situation is wholly and entirely of the sovereign, free, unmerited grace of God in Christ Jesus.


Article 4

WE BELIEVE that God intended for His own glory to display His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and truth in the work of creation which He has made in the dispensations of His providence.


Article 5

WE BELIEVE that God from all eternity purposed to secure a people from their sins for His holy namesake.  He devised in infinite wisdom the plan and appointed every means necessary to accomplish the great end of their redemption which He effects in His own time by the operation of His Holy Spirit.


Article 6

WE BELIEVE that sinners are justified before God alone by the infinite righteousness of Jesus Christ.


Article 7

WE BELIEVE all born of the Spirit of God are kept by the power of God through faith into eternal salvation.


Article 8

WE BELIEVE that good works are effects of the faith of God's chosen people and fully being born of the Spirit of God and are evidences of a gracious state.


Article 9

WE BELIEVE Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of the gospel instituted by Jesus Christ and none but those who profess faith in Christ and obedience to His will are worthy for either.


Article 10

WE BELIEVE immersion according to the Scriptures and apostolic practice to be the only proper mode of baptism.


Article 11

WE BELIEVE that sanctity of the first day of the week as the Lord's Day ought to be observed and spent in the public or private worship of God and we should abstain from our worldly concerns except in case of necessity and mercy.


Article 12

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the body both, of the just and the unjust, and that God will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus Christ whom He has ordained.


Article 13

WE BELIEVE the righteous will forever abide in the peaceful presence of God and His pardoning grace and forgiving love will be the theme of their song; while the wicked shall remain in everlasting torment.
